Loan Prospector Documentation Matrix –
Updated Format, Improved Resource
[February 21, 2006]
If you originate or underwrite loans for Freddie Mac, chances are you rely on our quick reference tool, Loan Prospector Documentation Matrix, to help streamline the document-gathering process for your borrowers. Now when you access this reference, you'll find a new format, one that makes it even easier to locate the information you're looking for.
Our key changes include:
A new, shorter name, and updated format – Formerly called the 'Freddie Mac Conventional/Conforming Documentation and Underwriting Matrix', the new
Loan Prospector Documentation Matrix[PDF 200K] has an updated format that's easier to read.
Underwriting reminders added – Complementary information that was previously found on a separate quick reference, 'Underwriting Reminders for all Loan Prospector Mortgages', has been integrated into the Loan Prospector Documentation Matrix. This supplemental reference will be retired.
Documentation requirements begin on page 1 – The reminder-like information previously found here has been moved to the end of the document under a section titled 'Underwriting Reminders.'
Topics reorganized – Section names and the flow of information have been changed to better reflect how you search for information. We've also added tips that answer your frequently asked questions.
Freddie Mac Single Family Seller/Servicer Guide – Every topic now includes a Guide reference indicating where to find more comprehensive information in the Guide.
As always, if you have any questions about the amount of documents you need to collect from your borrower for a loan, be sure to use the new Loan Prospector Documentation Matrix and follow the Documentation Checklist returned with your automated underwriting results.
