Loan Prospector Provides Free OFAC Checks on Trans Union Credit Infiles

Freddie Mac, in participation with Trans Union, provides Trans Union's Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) Advisor alert free of charge on credit infiles provided through Loan Prospector®.

Per the USA Patriot Act, financial institutions are required to check prospective customers against a known list of "Specifically Designated Nationals" and "Blocked Persons" maintained by the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Asset Control.

Quickly and Efficiently Meet OFAC Regulatory Requirements

With this Loan Prospector enhancement, you can efficiently meet this important regulatory requirement at no additional charge and with no additional processing steps.

You'll find the OFAC Advisor Alert in the "Special Message" section of your Trans Union infile credit report. The message will appear for both clear checks and for hits. See examples.

Contact Your CRC to Receive a Free OFAC Check

If you order a merged credit report through Loan Prospector from one of our participating credit reporting companies (CRCs) you'll receive an OFAC alert free of charge. Simply contact your participating CRC and ask for a free "OFAC check." Remember to tell them that you're a Loan Prospector customer. As long as you order your merged credit reports through Loan Prospector, you will receive the OFAC check at no additional charge.
