June Changes May Affect Your Access To Loan Prospector.Com

On June 24, Freddie Mac changed the Internet Protocol (IP) address that some customers use to access LoanProspector.com. If your Internet Service Provider or Local Area Network has "hard-coded" the old IP address into your system, you will need to change the IP address to ensure continued access to LoanProspector.com.

You will be able to make this change until 11:30 p.m., July 22, 2006. After July 22, the old IP addresses will no longer work, which may affect your access to LoanProspector.com.

How To Find Out If This Change Affects You

First, contact your technical support staff.  Provide your technical staff with this information and they should be able to determine whether this change affects you.

If you do not have a technical support staff, review the questions below to determine if you're affected.

  • Does your organization use a proxy server or firewall either on personal computers or on your network? A firewall protects a computer network from unauthorized access. Firewalls may be hardware devices, software programs, or a combination of the two. A proxy server works between an individual computer and the Internet to ensure security.
    • If yes, does your proxy server or firewall restrict Internet access to only certain web sites or Internet Protocol addresses?
      • If yes, then you may have to make changes. Please e-mail Loan Prospector Customer Service at lp_customer_service@freddiemac.com for more information. Be sure to include "IP Address Change Information" in the subject line. We'll send you instructions on how to address these changes to ensure that you'll have uninterrupted access to Loan Prospector.
  • Does your Internet Service Provider (ISP) use a proxy server or firewall on your behalf to restrict access to only certain web sites or Internet Protocol addresses?
    • If yes, then your ISP may have to make changes on your behalf. Please e-mail Loan Prospector Customer Service at lp_customer_service@freddiemac.com for more information. Be sure to include "IP Address Change Information" in the subject line. We'll send you instructions on how to address these changes to ensure that you'll have uninterrupted access to Loan Prospector.
  • Does your ISP use a Domain Name Server (DNS) to resolve IP addresses associated with hostnames?
    • If yes, then you or your ISP may have to clear your DNS cache in order to update your DNS with the new address. Please e-mail Loan Prospector Customer Service at lp_customer_service@freddiemac.com for more information. Be sure to include "IP Address Change Information" in the subject line. We'll send you instructions on how to address these changes to ensure that you'll have uninterrupted access to Loan Prospector.
