Desktop Underwriter (DU) File Format for Loan Prospector Submissions Retired March 31[January 30, 2006]
In order to provide our customers with access to Loan Prospector's latest enhancements and Freddie Mac mortgage products, on March 31, we retired the Fannie Mae' Desktop Underwriter (DU) file format option in Loan Prospector. Going forward, we will only support the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization's (MISMO) file format.
Loan submitted to Loan Prospector using the DU file format starting April 3, 2006, will receive an "Invalid" status.
If you're currently using the DU file format on submission to Loan Prospector, in order to ensure uninterrupted service through Loan Prospector, here's what you'll need to do:
- Contact your LOS vendor to determine if the latest version of Loan Prospector is available. Many LOS vendors are currently building or have built a new interface to Loan Prospector that you may be able to use. If you're a third-party originator, in some instances, your LOS vendor may have built a Loan Prospector system-to-system interface that is using the MISMO file format that is available only to Freddie Mac Seller/Servicers. If this is the case, you will need to discuss options for accessing Loan Prospector with your LOS vendor.
- For a complete list of LOS vendors, as well as the Loan Prospector access method they provide, please go to www.LoanProspector.com/about/vendors.html.
- Discuss with your LOS which version of Loan Prospector they have built, the timeline for their release, and the required steps to transition to the latest version of LoanProspector.com.
If you have any questions regarding the retirement of the DU file format in Loan Prospector, or need help determining next steps, please contact Loan Prospector Customer Service at:
