Retirement of Loan Prospector Specifications versions 2.0 and 2.1 and Browser 1-way

Posted December 2008

On March 15, 2009, we will be retiring the 2.0 DTD version of LoanProspector.com. This means that any specification versions that are based off the 2.0 DTD will also be retired. Currently those specification versions are 2.0 for browser interfaces, and 2.1 for system-to-system interfaces. The software version numbers are the following:

  • 2WWX2.0
  • 2WDX2.0
  • S2S2.1

In addition, we are retiring the one-way browser version, 1W2.0.

If a file is submitted to Loan Prospector on or after March 15, 2009 and is in the 2.0 DTD format or one-way format, an invalid message will be returned. Some of our mutual customers may still be using one of the soon-to-be retired older versions of their vendor's software. If so, they will begin receiving a warning message in December 2008 that their software needs to be updated. Please contact your Vendor Relations manager if you have any questions about this retirement.

Removal of Loan Documentation Type Field and Accept Plus Documentation Level

Posted December 2008

Effective December 7, 2008, Loan Prospector will no longer use the Loan Documentation Type field. Currently this field is used to identify a loan as a Stated Express Mortgage. Vendors should remove this field from their systems as soon as possible. If this field is included as part of a submission to Loan Prospector, the following message will returned to the user:

  • "You are not eligible to access Stated Express."

Also on December 7, Loan Prospector will no longer return the Loan Prospector Accept Plus Documentation Level for all submissions and resubmissions. Freddie Mac will accept the Accept Plus Documentation Level if the loan is settled prior to March 1, 2009. For more information on this change.

Updates to Support Assessment of FHA and VA Mortgages in Loan Prospector

Posted December 2008

Loan Prospector will be updated to reflect the 2009 Federal Housing Administration (FHA) loan limits established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and align with changes announced for Veterans Affairs (VA) mortgages in October. These changes do not impact the Loan Prospector interface specifications. For details on these changes.
